Okay, oddballs, this one is super special!
Funny Handmade Card for Dad
For Day 5 of the Getting My Sh*t Together Card Challenge, I’m sharing a cute birthday card for my Dad, the original ham in my life, and the reason I got into amateur radio in the first place.
He’s been a ham radio operator for decades, and when I was 10, I decided I wanted to be just like him.
So I studied, got licensed, and now here we are: 22 years of shared static, soldering, and signal chasing later, and I finally made him a birthday card featuring Beacon the ham, hamming it up on a ham radio. Naturally.

🎨 Supplies Used:
- Custom digital stamp (created by me!)
- Colored with Ohuhu markers
- Patterned papers (DSP) from my stash
- Card base: Book bind Z-fold, Cricut cardstock
- Cricut for the “Ham It Up” sentiment panel
- Metallic gel pen for extra sparkle
🐽 The Card Details:
This funny handmade card for dad is a book bind Z-fold card, made with some elegant DSP from my stash and a pun that just had to happen:
“HAM IT UP (for your birthday)”
The digital stamp is completely custom—hand-drawn by me just for this occasion. Beacon the little pig (a ham, obviously) sitting at a desk, mic in hand, ready to make birthday QSO magic.
I colored him with Ohuhu markers, and wrote a personal note inside.
My dad told me it’s now hanging in his ham shack, which… I mean… 💖 Goal achieved.
Transmitting love,
Breanna
