And here we are, Day 7 of the 7 Day Getting My Sh*t Together Card Challenge…going out not with a whisper, but with a shimmery witch on a broomstick and a galactic cloud of subversive glitter. This card is what happens when you combine:
A nod to St. Patrick’s Day
Honoring the “snakes” he drove out of Ireland
And a deeply chaotic craft desk
It’s festive enough for the office, but the real ones will know this is less parade and more sparkle resistance.
🛠 Materials & Techniques
- Celestina digital stamp: printed and cut with Cricut Print & Cut, colored with Copic markers
- Background: Ink-blended over navy cardstock using Distress Oxide inks, plus stars added with a Jelly Roll pen, splatter with white and yellow acrylic markers for a stardust vibe
- Shaker Fill:
- Gold stars cut with Cricut from gold heat-embossed glitter paper (I embossed the back so they shine both ways!)
- Green glitter hearts (also embossed gold on the back) die cut with a Sizzix Big Shot
- Acetate Sealing: A terrible combination of glue and double-sided tape.
🍀 The Infinity Shaker Card Details: Lucky, But Make It Witchy
This card stars Celestina, my resident broom-riding witch digital stamp, reimagined in a green dress for the occasion. She’s casting a luck spell on her journey across the sky and surrounded by a galaxy of luck and shimmer: “May your luck be as limitless as the stars.” (Translation: I hope you thrive, you magical being, and also down with colonial holidays.)
This one is an infinity shaker card, which means the front panel is fully enclosed in acetate, but let me tell you: getting that acetate to stay put was a full-blown boss battle. I learned A LOT about adhesive, cutting more than I thought I needed, and patience on this one.
With one hand casting spells and the other holding down acetate corners,
Breanna
